Tell us a bit about yourself ...
I've been working for more than 15 years in the field of administrative and public law, primarily in town and spatial planning, environmental law, public contracts and expropriations, as well as construction law. I did my internship at a niche law firm in Brussels, and worked my way up from lawyer to partner before making the jump to Astrea. Since then, I have been admitted not only to the Brussels Bar, but also to the Antwerp Bar. I am also a member of the editorial committee for the Tijdschrijft voor Omgevingsrecht en Omgevingsbeleid (Journal of Environmental Law and Policy – TOO).
Astrea, not just another law firm
What makes us unique is our speed and our practical approach. When it really matters, we can respond exceptionally quickly, because we have lawyers from every specialisation in one place, and they're all genuinely happy to work together on a file. And we keep it practical: we're never going to present our client with a hefty doctoral thesis, or one of those white papers which are just designed to look nice. Instead, we're committed to providing concrete solutions which help our clients to immediately get ahead.
What are you particularly proud of?
Clients thanking me afterwards, often with the phrase “You did what you said you were going to do at the start.” That's what I'm especially proud of: that I'm a man of my word.
I love fighting for the interests of our clients in my specialist areas, namely administrative, property and environmental law.
